Custom Orders
One of my favourite things as an artist is to create unique solutions to every-day problems. If you have a situation you want me to take a shot at solving please fill out the form on this page to start the discussion. I run my custom order requests very similar to tattoo artists on some main guiding principles:
Clear Communication
If you aren't able to clearly communicate what you're looking for then it's a non-starter. I am very transparent about timelines and costs up front and if you aren't able to discuss and agree to a price range I may turn down your submission.
Reasonable Workload
Sometimes I will simply be too busy to accept commissions. This doesn't mean I don't like your idea, it just means that I don't have time to execute it right now. We can either discuss a design change that would reduce the workload, or potentially a different time frame to complete it.
Reasonable Timeline
Ceramics take a long time to create with a chance at failure every step of the way. I may create 2-3 prototypes before bisque firing, hand painting, glazing, then firing again for the final time. If everything goes to plan it can take 1-2 months for a custom order to be completed. If things go sideways, potentially longer in order to re-make items.
Artist Interest
The bottom line is that whatever I create will be tied to my reputation as an artist. If I lack interest or don't feel confident in my ability to execute your vision I will politely decline your request. It's not that I don't appreciate the work, it's that I'm not the right person or it isn't the right time for the work you're requesting.
